Blessed With You - Part 1

Blessed With You Part 1

Thankful for ears that hear and a
tongue that speaks.
Thankful for eyes that are blessed to
see.
Blessed for my hands  -  oh so thankful
they touch.
Thankful for my very life – God’s breath
that fills me just enough.
Thankful for feelings, emotions – electrifying
my motions – Blessed with a Power
that moves oceans.  But to attempt
to conceive the very notion that you’re not
with me is explosive.
Something like a explosion
Without the bang!
Like a thunderstorm without the
rain.  Without you I’m lost – just like the
Scarecrow’s brain.

I will never forget this day..

Today will be a day that I will never forget.
But I’m sure she has had days, way before this, that she’ll never forget.
Whateva.
Conclusions, from concussions of too many nights of fussin.
Constantly rushin, to conclusions mind fuckin,
Black, but now I’m feeling like a White Russian-
Dark skins Miss, I’m going to miss.
Your kiss was delish,
Was delish, Now shit smell like fish.
At night I wish,
My mind circling, missing you Miss?

Today-my heart fell below the grid, under the abyss.

While my heart hid-My eyes, had no lids,
I could see clear, my reflection in the mirror.
It was ME! At first I couldn’t see,
What my heart was trying to telling me.
What, she was telling me.
What, I was tryin to tell me…
IT’S OVER. FOOL.

Dream Girl Gone-Part 1

And all day I felted her soul,
Speaking to me-
Holding me tightly
Nicely inviting me to remember the nights
we were so close.

Now she's leaving for good, and I knew this day would come-
Believe me if you should
I wouldn't stop her if I could.

No matter what you think,
I do Love her, that you should know
But sometimes .... you got to let love go.

Handsome is He...

Handsome is he…

Handsome is he, the one I love the most
A shadow of my every dream
Handsome is he my ghost

The only man that my lips will kiss
And my hands do hold him tight
Every second of this absence, he is surely missed
And living is a fright without him insight.

He is me though I’ll never be him
No matter how hard I try
He is me, I live in him
So I will live even if I was to die

But death will not fall on me
Like innocent has fallen over his face
We will make a voyage to the seven seas
God has blessed our breath with grace

Handsome is he, to my words he will heed
He is the heart beat to my life
Handsome is he, my seed Indeed
To blossom he will, from the rays of God’s sunlight.

My son.

Alone?

Have you ever sat down, took a look around and found that the only sound breathing was yours?

Have you ever took a walk in the sand, wanted to hold hands, dance and watch the sunset land, with someone instead of yourself for a chance?

Have you ever played hide and seek, with someone sweet, who knocked you off your feet, and in times of passion, been your source of heat?

Have you ever walked between trees, stepped on leaves, felt the cool summer breeze and falling down praying for that special someone - praying on your knees?

Have you ever been lonely, in solitary, deserted, abandoned, detached, unaccompanied, isolated, unattached, or unconnected?

Have you ever been alone?

I Listened

She sits down, She talks I listen.
She says.....he's not treating me right.
I say - he's not, damn.
Without questions from me - she begins to talk.

I listen

While listening I stare, I think, I can understand.
He's really not treating her right.
She listens....to me hoping I give her advice on her man.
I agree to her strong points, I continue to

Listen.

I paint a picture of her in my mind, knowing all the things that tick her off
And the things that makes her day.

I listened.

While listening I learned that she likes to be kissed,
She likes attention.
She also loves football.

I listened to all of his downfalls.

I began to give her the attention she longed for,
I changed the channel to ESPN,
I kissed her on her forehead
I reminded her of the things that made her day.

She smiled and leaves, feeling fulfilled.

I Listened
........and she'll be back to talk.

(This poem felt so good to write...it's also a throwback it's one of my older poems from '06. Be quick to hear....slow to speak...and slow to anger...quick to hear.)

....inside of Mona Lisa's Frame.

This is a new piece (July 2010). I didn't have a title for this one until the end. Enjoy.

She is like the air I breath
She is parallel to God
She is what I believe

Like life, she flows through
my veins.
Bright like the Sun - Warmth
And nutritious like the rain. ahhh

She is earth -
Her garden is the only place
my seeds will grow.
A secret Garden -
Her location is only for me, to know.

Her kiss leaves me in a place of
bliss. Imagine that.
Her only wish is to receive a honest,
Kiss, right back.

If I had to paint a picture,
she would be the inspiration
from which the art
came.
And up completion
The piece should be fitted inside of Mona Lisa's Frame.

Death Of Love -(Throwback Poem)

This was a poem I wrote years ago. I am posting this one because I received the most responses from my peers when I last posted "Death Of Love" online. Enjoy.

I took away your happiness; your sunshine has faded into a dull light.

I took away your sight, for love-you put up a strong fight.

My delight was in pleasing you, and fulfilling your every need.

But I was weak by love and you were full of it – I took it from you piece by piece,

Your heart is wrinkled now, it was neat. I was full of emotional greed.

And now it's hard for you to love, hard to trust – heart of rust – stained by scars.

And the little drops of love you still have is locked, tightly behind wall of fear –

Deep in the corner of your soul, behind huge metal security bars.

But without you I'm nothing I apologize, I watched the tears build up in your eyes.

Lady, you cried.

I said I was sorry.

I cried too.

And like a baby needs milk-I need you.

I want to give back to you what I stolen.

I give up my careless ways and like a poker game I'm folding.

I wish it was you that I was holding, instead of this damn pillow.

I've treated you like a widow.
Where you had love … now there's hate.

I want you.

I need you.

I told you.

You said, "It's too late."

I'm sorry I stole your heart.

Spread Thin

Like peanut butter at the bottom of the jar,
scooped out with a spoon - spread over a thick
piece of Iron Kids bread.

That's how I'm spread. Thin.

I know God has a purpose for my life.
He's allowed me to be used, emotionally abused;
I've allowed myself to be other people tools.
A self made Fool.
Surrounding myself with people that love me -- I think.
But, I feel like a mule.

Am I being spread too thin?
Is this a test to see if being used allows me to win?
During the day I'm a Hero to all,
My cellphone rings and I don't even want to see who called.
Because when it rings - there are so many things that are needed from me,
other people problems, fears, relationships, kids, wives - lives are spoken
to me. By God's will and my ears -- my eyes are open to see. Although I don't like it at times; these life lessons - my poems illustrate confessions - deep in my mind.
Maybe these things are focusing me.

Lord notice me. My son's hoping for me.
I feel alone...even though I have thousands of friends; family that's there
But don't care. Lord help me build so I can feel,
completely structured like bricks house, thousands of folks live in.

Unlike a suicide note I know this poem is where it begins...
I AM SPREAD THIN -- But my Faith is thick, Ice is thin -- yet Ice is slick!

So enough with that bulls&*t,
I'VE BEEN PICKED!

Love?

Inquiry: What does love mean to you?

Your answer: Love means to me like the water means to the sea. Love means to me like the honey to the bee. Like the Sun to the earth. Like the flower to the dirt. Love means pain and Love means gains. Love means waiting, even if it rains. Like the Heart to life. Like the love of a blessed wife. Love means more than I love you's Love means more of I will do. Like the Me to You Like the You to Me. Love is deep like the waters in the the sea. ...

Tears of A Woman

There are things that I can handle

There are things that I can not

I deal with the weather any day

It doesn’t matter if it’s freezing outside or blazing hot

I can sleep with a faucet dripping

My momma tripping

Skating and slipping

Diving into a chemical waste lake, sipping

On the water.

Begin a man, who has to be an example for

my daughter.

I can deal with a friends lie,

But I can’t handle it when I see the tears of a woman, roll up in the

Corner of her eye

To cry

It touches my soul.

My emotions unfold.

I loose my sense of feeling

Although she is all I want to hold

Hoping that my spirit lightens her soul

Her tears drop on my shirt, they disappear

And like the tears so does her fears

Gloomy eyes become clear

And I whisper in her ear I will always be near

No matter the reason, time nor place

I will be there to gently wipe the tears from her face.

I can stand victorious in a fields where failures lie,

I can deal with anything

Except the Tears of a Woman

To Cry

"Ain't It Amazing"

Ain't it amazing, your demonstrations of love.
Your personification of love,
and oh So sweet your Georgia Peach,
Skin of warm clean sheets, that hold me-
Your love is heat to my frozen beach,
That warms the trees so that the fruit may speak.

Ain't it amazing the playing we do.
All the touching and laying we do.
Our communication is keen,
We’re a team, not full of me’s but many
I Love You’s.
The Thangs You Do!
To explain your proof,
That leaves me clear from all uncertainties,
To understand the truth.
I could go on and on about just you.

I just want you to know that I
See-Touch-Taste-Hear-and Smell
Those Things You Do!
