I Listened

She sits down, She talks I listen.
She says.....he's not treating me right.
I say - he's not, damn.
Without questions from me - she begins to talk.

I listen

While listening I stare, I think, I can understand.
He's really not treating her right.
She listens....to me hoping I give her advice on her man.
I agree to her strong points, I continue to

Listen.

I paint a picture of her in my mind, knowing all the things that tick her off
And the things that makes her day.

I listened.

While listening I learned that she likes to be kissed,
She likes attention.
She also loves football.

I listened to all of his downfalls.

I began to give her the attention she longed for,
I changed the channel to ESPN,
I kissed her on her forehead
I reminded her of the things that made her day.

She smiled and leaves, feeling fulfilled.

I Listened
........and she'll be back to talk.

(This poem felt so good to write...it's also a throwback it's one of my older poems from '06. Be quick to hear....slow to speak...and slow to anger...quick to hear.)

....inside of Mona Lisa's Frame.

This is a new piece (July 2010). I didn't have a title for this one until the end. Enjoy.

She is like the air I breath
She is parallel to God
She is what I believe

Like life, she flows through
my veins.
Bright like the Sun - Warmth
And nutritious like the rain. ahhh

She is earth -
Her garden is the only place
my seeds will grow.
A secret Garden -
Her location is only for me, to know.

Her kiss leaves me in a place of
bliss. Imagine that.
Her only wish is to receive a honest,
Kiss, right back.

If I had to paint a picture,
she would be the inspiration
from which the art
came.
And up completion
The piece should be fitted inside of Mona Lisa's Frame.
